Moulsham High School

Pastoral

At Moulsham every student is valued and effective pastoral care is recognised as a strength of the school.  Tutor groups are supported by a Form Tutor who, together with the Standards & Progress Leaders, provides mentoring and guidance for students on a daily basis and particularly at transitional points in the Key Stages.

We promote community cohesion, developing good relations across different cultures, backgrounds and ethnic, religious, non-religious and socio-economic groups.

Moulsham students are expected to behave in a responsible and civilised manner, to be honest and truthful, to show consideration and respect for others at all times, to work hard, to conform to dress regulations, and to be punctual and attend regularly.

We believe that education is most effective when there is a strong partnership between school and home and the school will make every effort to:

  • care for your son/daughter's safety and welfare.
  • provide a balanced curriculum appropriate to your son/daughter's needs.
  • set high expectation in all aspects of school life.
  • monitor the standard of education provided and progress of students.
  • monitor attendance, punctuality, homework adn the behaviour and discipline of students.
  • contact parents if there are concerns about academic work, behaviour, attendance or punctuality.
  • keep parents regularly informed about school matters and events.
  • praise and reward student achievements.
  • be open and welcoming and offer parents opportunities to become involved in the life of the school and provide opportunities that enable students to play a full and active part in the life of the community, both locally and beyond, during, and after their time at the school.

A high standard of self-discipline is a pre-requisite for a well-ordered and happy environment.
