Citizenship and Personal Development

Subect Leader (Citizenship) - Mrs A Lapham

As they grow older, students will need to get involved in the communities they live in and help change them for the better. Citizenship is the key here as students find out how our society works. They also learn how to communicate their ideas effectively and why it is vital to understand other people's views and to respect their rights. By teaching these skills, citizenship shows students how they can play an active and responsible part in society.

"Students have a first-rate understanding of what constitutes a healthy life style, and opportunities to take part in sport and a wide range of recreational activities allow them to put this into practice.  Other health issues, such as keeping safe and eating healthily are very effectively taught as part of the excellent citizenship programme.  Students put their good knowledge to excellent effect."
