Jacobs Army & Navy Roundabout Workshop
On Wednesday 22/9/2021, Moulsham welcomed Jacobs, the civil engineering and consultancy company, appointed by Essex County Council and Essex Highways to deliver Chelmsford’s Army and Navy roundabout redevelopment.
Year 10/12 students received presentations from a number of experts in the fields of Digital Virtualisation, Transport Planning, Engineering, Stakeholder Engagement, Communications and Environment.
These workshops provided a fantastic insight into #STEM careers, showcasing industry knowledge and technology, encouraging and informing students regarding the possibilities of a career in these fields, with some surprising outcomes. Who knew that a civil engineering company, also relies on employees as experts in the fields of; digital communications, journalism, human resources etc. as well as the usual engineering experts!
The virtual reality goggles workshop was a definite favorite of most students!
Students were also offered a chance to vote for their preferred option of redevelopment plan design at the end of the session.
