Drama - Key Stage 3
At KS3 we believe that Drama is serious fun!
Year 7
In Year 7 students will learn to create a role by using vocal and body skills. They will look at traditional aspects of theatre; "Oh no you won't! ... Oh yes we will!", become detectives, hunt for a missing teenager, and see daydreams come to life.
Year 8
In Year 8 students will continue to develop their skills in creating a role and exploring texts, forms and themes. In this year they will be an educator for a target audience, hide from the Nazis, and become a masked figure!
Year 9
Then in Year 9 the fun gets more serious when students start to experience what GCSE Drama is all about. They consider real life events and their impact, learn about different types of Physical Theatre, and explore key pressures linking to student life.
For each Unit of work the students complete a booklet which consists of self, peer, and teacher assessments, key terminology, and an opportunity to reflect on their work. This provides students with the opportunity to begin to build skills required for GCSE Drama.
