How To Support Reading At Home

At Moulsham High school, we believe strong reading skills goes hand in hand with nurturing confident and articulate readers. To help achieve we have developed a structured approach to what makes great reading which is encouraged in lessons whenever pupils are reading aloud. We believe, by developing these skills, it helps pupils to read more fluently and become better strategic readers. Why not try this at home when your child is reading any text aloud.

At Moulsham High School we subscribe to digital platform called Bedrock Learning. It’s designed for students aged 6 – 16, and it’s perfect for both home and school use and can be used on a mobile phone, tablet or computer device.

Bedrock focuses on improving vocabulary, grammar and subject-specific language skills. This helps students to gain the language and the literacy knowledge they need to do better in their studies.

Pupils can log in using the same username and password provided to them to log onto the school computer network.
