MFL - Key Stage 3
Through language learning, students in Key Stage 3 develop linguistic competence in the skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking in a range of contexts, to allow them to communicate effectively. They acquire knowledge about language, understanding how a language works and recognising different and common features between the foreign language and their own language. They also acquire an intercultural understanding, enabling them to appreciate the richness and diversity of other cultures, helping them to develop an international outlook.
