Author visit - Seth Burkett
We welcomed a very special guest in the library this week, Seth Burkett. Seth is not only a writer, Ghost writer, professional footballer, and a motivational speaker but he also has a very incredible story about his time as a footballer in Brazil. Year 8’s enjoyed an assembly, about his career and how he became an author, he was in the library at lunchtime signing autographs and the day ended with a Persuasive Writing workshop with a Year 7 library lesson class of 30 students. It was interesting to watch the kids try and effectively influence each other using evidence and reasoning, with Seths professional guidance. The argument remains, who is better Messi V. Ronaldo???
It was lovey to see that most of the books that inspired him when he was growing up, are available in our library for the pupils to borrow. By the end of the visit, the kids learned a lot about hard work, passion and following their dreams. Seth showed us that if you are brave enough to take on new challenges, amazing things can happen.
Signed copies of Seth Burkett’s books are available to borrow from the library.

“I want to become a manga artist and I told him that my parents want me to get a regular job I asked him what he thinks I should do. He said why don’t you try a regular job and if that doesn’t work out, you can try manga. I asked him how much money he makes, and he said not a lot, but he gets a chance to work for big brands like Nike which make it all worth it and he makes a living that way”
