  • A Virtual Tour of MHS and A Guide For New Year 7 Students

    Tue 30 Jun 2020

We know that our new year 7 students, due to join the school in September, have missed out on induction days and visits to MHS. Some may have visited the school during year 5 or on trips to the Library for events such as The Book Café but it will have been a while. Therefore Mr Greenaway, Standards and Progress Leader for Year 7, has put together a virtual tour which will hopefully help. He has also put together a presentation for our new year 7 students which can be found on the website. We're really looking forward to meeting our new students.

  • Welcome to our incoming Year 7 students 2020

    Mon 22 Jun 2020

The rather lovely Mrs Hales and Ms Adams, our school Librarians, have put together a video for our new Year 7 students ahead of you joining us in the new academic year.

In this video you will find a number of MHS staff talking about their favourite childhood books, you'll also get a few sneak peaks at some of the different areas around the school.

    Enjoy!

  • Year 11 Prom - New Date

    Fri 19 Jun 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you and your families are all well and keeping safe.

    YEAR 11 PROM

As you are aware, the Year 11 prom was cancelled due to Covid 19. I am pleased to inform you we have rearranged the prom to Monday, 19 October 2020 at Three Rivers Golf and Country Club.

Students should arrive at the venue from 6.30pm.  Dinner service will commence at 7.30pm and the event will finish at 11.30pm.  All parents need to make arrangements for students to be collected promptly at that time.

As deposits and some further payments have been made, the remaining balance will need to be paid by Friday, 10 July 2020.

If your child does not want you to attend and has paid a deposit already, you are able to get a refund. If you wish to ask for a refund, please send an email to admin@moulshamhigh.org and put ‘Finance Year 11 Prom’ in the subject box.  The deadline for this is Friday, 10 July.

Should you have any further queries, please contact either myself or Mrs Hadlow.

    Yours sincerely

    Mr K Green

Standards and Progress Leader – Year 11

  • Lockers

    Fri 19 Jun 2020

We need to start the process of clearing out all lockers and getting them ready for September.

To receive the contents of your child’s locker, you will need to send an email to Admin@moulshamhigh.org with LOCKER in the subject box.

Please include your child’s name and locker number in the email.

We will then contact you with a collection date/time when you can come to school to collect a bag with the contents of the locker.

Please note that if you do not request the contents by Friday, 3 July, the contents are likely to be disposed of.

  • Face To Face Support For Years 10 and 12

    Mon 01 Jun 2020

    Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope you and your family are well and that you were able to enjoy at least some of the half-term break.

As I am sure you are aware, over the holiday, the Prime Minister pushed back the date for secondary schools to offer some face to face support for Years 10 and 12 to June 15th and issued some revised guidance as to what this should look like.

The guidance states that no more than a quarter of Year 10 and Year 12 should be on the school site at any time.  For Moulsham High School this is 98 students.  The guidance also states that the expectation is for remote education to continue to be the main form of educational delivery for these year groups, with some face to face support supplementing this.

We are hopeful that we will be able to provide your child with some face to face support from each of his/her teachers at least once between 15th June and 22nd July when the Summer Term ends.  A copy of the overall face to face support programme, an individual timetable for your child and details of the steps we have taken to minimise the risk for both students and staff will be sent to you early next week.

In the meantime, I would like to thank-you for your continued support throughout this unprecedented situation.

    Yours sincerely,

    Miss J Mead
    Headteacher
