  • Cambridge Medical Society visits Moulsham High School

    Mon 25 Sep 2017

Monday 25th September 2017 - The current third year medical students from Cambridge Medical Society recently visited Moulsham High School with a presentation for current students and their peers from local secondary schools in the Mid-Essex area, who are interested in pursuing careers linked to medical and biomedical sciences, physiotherapy and dentistry.

The Cambridge Medical Society was established for the welfare and support of medical students, and during the visit to Moulsham High there were presentations and information shared about the application process, UKCAT and BMAT assessments and entry requirements for Cambridge and other medical schools, the expectations of University entrance examinations, and the opportunity for discussion about why or why not to choose careers in medicine.

There was also lots of useful information shared about selecting GCSE and A-Level courses, making the right choice of University, achieving appropriate work experience, writing personal statements, and the interview processes including practice and examples of common interview questions.

Dr Puri at Moulsham High School said “It was a pleasure to welcome Cambridge Medical Society representatives to our school and for our students to have the opportunity to meet other peers from local secondary schools in Essex who are interested in pursuing careers in this field.  The students really enjoyed listening to the presentation, and they all asked lots of questions afterwards.”
