PE - Key Stage 4

Physical Education is one of the core subjects in key stage 4, meaning that students are required by law to be taught the subject, but they do not have to take a qualification in it. However, if they wish to do so, students can choose core subjects as one of their options.

The PE department offers GCSE PE and the BTEC First Level 2 Award In Sport. Students cannot study both courses.

Students should indicate on their options forms which course they would prefer to study. The PE department will make the final decision as to which one is taken to ensure that every student is on the right course and has the best possible chance of achieving his/her potential.
