Free School Meals (FSM)
We are committed to providing your child with the best possible education and support.
Access to healthy school meals can help pupils develop positive habits for life and improve their readiness to learn.
Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you receive certain benefits or support.
In addition, applying can help secure extra funding (Pupil Premium) for the school, which can be used to provide support such as additional teaching staff, extra tuition, or after-school activities. The information collected in this form will allow us to
assess eligibility.
You only need to complete this form once. Eligibility will then be rechecked annually to confirm whether your child remains entitled to free school meals. If your child moves to a new school, this eligibility may also be reassessed.
Please contact the school orlocal authority if your financial circumstances change.
We are committed to ensuring that all personal information you provide is kept safe and secure. We have measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your data. The information will be used solely to assess eligibility for free school meals,
but it may also be shared with other Council departments to provide access to additional benefits and services.
From the start of the 2026–2027 academic year, all children from households receiving Universal Credit who attend this school will be entitled to a free meal.
There will be two categories of benefits-based free school meals:
- Targeted FSM – for pupils in households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings of £7,400 or less
- Expanded FSM – for pupils in households receiving Universal Credit who do not meet the targeted FSM threshold
To check if your child is eligible, please complete all sections of the ONLINE FORM,
Alternatively, you can collect a paper copy from reception and return it to the school.
If you need help completing the form or cannot find the necessary information, please
