  • Nursing
  • Midwifery
  • Paramedicine
  • Physiotherapy

  • Pharmacy

Applications for this programme are now open, and they will be open throughout this academic year, with the next virtual work experience day taking place on the 7th November.

During the work experience day, students will follow 2 patients from their initial presentation to recovery. Students will observe the healthcare professionals as they interact with the patients and each other. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge through teaching.

This will help students to make an informed career decision as well as learn about how healthcare professionals work together as part of a multidisciplinary team. Each work experience day is completely different, and students will be able to build on their knowledge of NHS careers as they see different patient cases and healthcare professionals work in a variety of settings, such as hospital and community.

Students will also receive certificates as evidence of having participated in the work experience programme. Those that complete the entire 6-month programme will be awarded with Highly Commended References too. Students can register individually through the website link below. Places are £10 a day to cover administrative costs and run the tech on the day.

Future Leaders of the Year Competition!

As The Future Leaders Project is about celebrating different types of leaders and diverse talents, students are asked to submit a pitch video telling us about themselves and their leadership story.

It can be about them demonstrating self-leadership (e.g., leading themselves out of a challenging situation) or leading others (e.g. their peers, school, community or society).

The top 50 students will be selected as ‘ones to watch’ and invited to participate in the final, a day-long virtual workshop on 19th January 2022 that seeks to assess and develop them.

Plus there are prizes to tempt even the more reluctant students, including work experience, mentoring and career support, financial investment and access to the Ivy House coaches and alumni network - and we’ve a few things up our sleeves for your school, too.

To help students prepare we’re also running two free events:

3rd November, 5-6pm: The 3 secrets of success that no one tells you

4th November, 5-6pm: Perfect your pitch – how to pitch yourself to stand out from the crowd

Head to http://www.ivyhouse.co.uk/future-leaders/competition for more info and brilliant resources to support your students with submitting their entry.
