Sixth Form Admissions

Entry Requirements

To study A-levels, or a combination of A-levels and BTECs, students must currently have a minimum of 38 points from their best eight GCSE results and meet the entry requirements of the subject they wish to study (see accompanying course guide). A grade 4 in both English and Mathematics is also required and students who do not achieve this will be required to re-sit GCSE English and/or Mathematics in Year 12.

To study just Level 3 BTEC courses, students must have a minimum of 30 points from their best eight GCSE results. A grade 4 in both English and Mathematics is also required; students will be required to re-sit these subjects if they do not meet this requirement.

To apply for a place in our Sixth Form, please complete the application form to the right of this page. Completed forms should be sent to Miss Smith, Assistant Head of Sixth Form

Applications for September 2019 must be made
by Friday 14th December 2018.

Once an application has been received we will contact your existing school for a reference and a place will be offered provided that the reference and forecast grades meet our requirements.


Over Subscription to Sixth Form

The total number of places available for Year 12 students is 180. We welcome applications from students at other schools.

Where applications exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied, in the order given, to determine which students to admit:

  1. Students currently attending Moulsham High School
  2. Students living in the priority admissions area
  3. Proximity of home to school, with those living nearer accorded the higher priority (distance is measured in a straight lin from home to school
