Key Stage 3

Basic cookery skills become more complex through the three years and cover

  • Design and Make tasks to allow students time to experiment. 
  • Hygiene and safety to ensure students are working in a safe environment.
  • Basic nutrition and food groups.

Key Stage 4

GCSE in Food and Nutrition allows the skills and outcomes of KS3 to be further developed in a controlled environment.  Students also look at designing and making food products to show all the various aspects of food.  Nutrition is covered as an important aspect of food.

Key Stage 5

Enrichment activities allow the students to gather skills needed to look after themselves when they leave home and go to university or live alone.
