Moulsham High School specialises in English and Humanities and first received its Humanities specialism in September 2005. The effectiveness of the specialism has been very striking since day one and has had a positive impact not only on the Humanities subjects, but also on other areas of the school, our feeder primary schools and the local community. The last OFSTED inspection report (published November 2011) commented that “The school's specialist English and Humanities status has made a positive impact on raising standards”.
The main Humanities subjects are English, Geography, History and PRE (Philosophy, Religion and Ethics), and we also teach other subjects in the Sixth Form, such as Government and Politics and Sociology. You can find out more about these subjects from their individual pages on this site. Results at GCSE and A-level in the Humanities subjects are very impressive - "English and humanities subjects have a strong track record of success" (OFSTED November 2011).
