Harry Potter Book Night

As always, the Moulsham Library got into the ‘spirt’ of things to celebrate the Harry Potter Book Night by donning some fetching ‘wizardry outfits’.

It was the third Harry Potter Book Night event at Moulsham High School.  Staff were joined on this occasion by three classes of Year 5 students from Mildmay and Moulsham Junior Schools for the interactive learning and fun.  The 90 visiting students were not disappointed.

Moulsham High School’s own 81M class joined in the afternoon to experience wand-making, transfiguration class and a professor throw.  After school, a further 20 students joined for the first half showing of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’.  Popcorn and jelly beans were on sale to raise money for the J.K. Rowling’s charity ‘Lumos’.  The second half of the film was shown a few weeks later.

The excitement began for the Library Harry Potter Student Committee back in December, as they set about developing a range of activities based on the magical theme of ‘The Professors of Hogwarts’.  Students were keen to incorporate ideas from all seven of J.K. Rowling’s amazing books, and we are already looking forward to the next event!
