Alwyn Hamilton To Visit MHS

We are delighted to announce that Author, Alwyn Hamilton, will be visiting Moulsham High School on Wednesday 26th April.

Alwyn is fascinating. She is only 28 years old and has lived around the world. She was PA to the Head of the Islamic Department at Christie’s Auction house. She also studied Art History at Cambridge University and wrote her thesis on the artwork of the French Rebellion. Alwyn has ridden camels, camped in the desert and woven the tapestry of the world from all the countries she has visited.

Alwyn’s debut novel ‘Rebel of the Sands’ is described as, ‘the Wild West meets Arabian Nights’ in this epic new fantasy. On the one hand the book has a sharpshooting heroine, train heists and shooting competitions in dead-end desert bars, but on the other it has immortal horses formed from desert sand, festivals where the stars go out, and the children of humans and djinni. It is absolutely thrilling.

Alwyn will be speaking with students about the experiences which have inspired her writing and her creative processes. During her visit, she will also be signing copies of ‘Rebel of the Sands’, along with book two, ‘Traitor to the Throne’.
