World Book Day 2nd March 2017

On the 2nd March 2017, Moulsham High School took part in World Book Day.  Students and staff joined in the celebration of authors, illustrators, books and most importantly, of reading.

The day consisted of themed English lessons, treasure hunts and the entire school ‘dropped everything to read’ for thirty minutes.  All the activities on the day were focused on getting young people closer to the books and authors they already love, and letting them discover even more books and authors.

Moulsham’s core values state that we want our students to enjoy their educational experience, and a huge part of this is continuing to enjoy reading fiction for pleasure, and to continue to foster a love of reading amongst our students.

For a suggested £1 contribution, students and staff were invited to come to school dressed as a character from a literary text - just a few pictures are shown here - and all students were given a £1 book voucher to use against purchasing a book of their choice.

A total of £1344.41 was raised at Moulsham High School on World Book Day 2017 – thank you to everyone who donated and took part.
