World Book Day - 2nd March 2017

Students and staff will be getting into the spirit of things at MHS on Thursday 2nd March 2017 to celebrate ‘World Book Day’.

Students have been invited to come to school on 'World Book Day' dressed as a character from a literary text, and there will be a book token prize for the best costume in each year group.

A £1 contribution has been suggested which will be donated to the designated charities for this year.

The event will continue to foster a love of reading amongst our students, and will allow staff to remind students that it has been proven that children who continue to read fiction for pleasure throughout secondary school do significantly better in their examinations.

The school core values state that we want students to enjoy their educational experience at Moulsham High School, and a significant part of that is continuing to enjoy reading fiction for pleasure.

In addition, students will have the opportunity on the 2nd March to take part in special ‘World Book Day’ themed English lessons, and a 'World Book Day’ treasure hunt, and the entire school will ‘drop everything and read' for thirty minutes during the day.
